# Auto-Provision by AD Group

By far the most popular method of creating WorkSpaces is using the **Auto-Provisioning (AP) Profile**.\
To set up an **AP Profile**, navigate to **Configurations > AP Profiles** and select **Add Profile**.

Enter the **Active Directory group**, select the **AWS Region**, **WorkSpaces directory**, **WorkSpaces bundle**, and the **AWS account** where the WorkSpaces will reside. Then choose the **running mode** and enable or disable **root and user volume encryption**, before clicking **Save**.

{% hint style="info" %}
You will only be able to add **Fixed Tags** under **Profile Tags** after the Auto-Provision profile has been saved. Once saved, you can return to edit the profile and add the required **Fixed Tags**.
{% endhint %}

When **Auto-Provision** is enabled, the service will poll the configured **Active Directory groups** every **15 minutes** for new members.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://docs.nuvens.cloud/admin/appendices/how-do-i-create-a-workspace-for-a-user/auto-provision-by-ad-group.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
